Art Sopel Talks about Simple Ways You Can Be Fit

Art Sopel gives a few tips on being fit

Arthur Sopel knows that it is not easy being fit. Of course, for Sopel, it has been easier for him to remain fit. After all, he started quite young. In fact, he even managed to win the prestigious award of ‘Athlete of the Week’ back in 1998 when he was still studying in Paramus Catholic High School. He was also one of the best basketball players in his school. He was good enough to garner significant attention from colleges as well. However, Sopel realized that his true calling lied in helping people. That is why he now runs a gym in New Jersey which aims to help people become fit.

Art Sopel knows that fitness cannot be achieved in a single day. Instead, it takes time. As such, he encourages people to take a few simple steps first so that they can get into the mindset. They can, then, build on their achievements and become truly and completely fit. Additionally, joining a health club or a gym right from the outset can be an expensive proposition. They may even find it difficult to incorporate gym timings into your own schedule thanks to the generally hectic lifestyles that people lead these days.

As such, the only option remaining is to start your fitness exercises at home. It is certainly possible for you to do so. As a beginner, your aim should be to perform cardiovascular exercises for 30 minutes. This should be done at least 3 times in a week. As for strength exercises, you can perform them for 20 minutes to 30 minutes, thrice in a week. You should also ensure that your strength exercises are varied enough to cover all the major muscle groups in the body. This includes the groups in the lower body, the upper body, the back and the abdominals.

However, Arthur Sopel notes, you should not be too hasty. You must always start slowly and start increasing the intensity and the duration of the exercises in a gradual manner. Additionally, Arthur mentions that it is vital for you to listen to the body. You need to ensure that you are performing the exercises correctly as well. This is where, Sopel believes, a fitness buddy will be vital. The buddy can help you note where you are going wrong and encourage you to perform better.
